Cades Cove, Tennessee 

Dear Lover,

Hiked to Abram's Falls today.
Rocks and exposed roots.
Made dents in the sole of my Chacos.

And as we hiked.
I waited.
For that moment.
When our laughter would linger.
That moment along the trail.
When everyone would get lost in their own thoughts.
Beneath the shade of the moss-covered trees.
And all you could hear was the shake of their leaves.
The grit of soles against uneven ground.
And the call of the waterfall miles away.
